What we offer

Angus Ford-Robertson offers Reflective Therapy. Using his skills as a qualified clinical hypnotherapist (registered with the BSCH) and his long experience as a Yoga and Meditation teacher, he specialises in working with people who are in experiencing stress, life change and emotional upheaval in their lives.

Reflective Therapy can be invaluable for people who seek help with:
  • Relationships
  • Career changes
  • Past trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Work stress
  • Depression
  • Learning to relax
  • Finding direction and purpose in life
Reflective Therapy is particularly recommended for individuals who understand the importance of taking an active role in the therapeutic  healing process. Reading material, exercises and courses may be suggested and the individual is encouraged and guided to further their own self-development.

Reflective Therapy is essentially a synthesis of the most effective psychotherapeutic approaches of the West (such as CBT), with the meditative wisdom of the East.

Hypnotherapy, which is sometimes used in Reflective Therapy, can be very effective for dealing with immediate issues and symptoms such as anxiety and depression, weight problems, compulsive behaviours, phobias, headaches, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), insomnia and skin complaints.

While Hypnosis is sometimes used during appointments, it should be understood that it forms only a small part of the therapy offered. Other techniques will be utilised in order to achieve your given objective. These may include; reframing of the problem or situation, techniques for dropping old thinking patterns, learning how to question thoughts, discovering a spiritual perspective on an issue, making lifestyle changes and learning practical stress-reducing techniques.

It is also encouraged that individuals expect to make a commitment to have a regular weekly, fortnightly appointment for a minimum of 4-6 sessions. This will foster positive change and provide a good framework for the therapeutic process.
